Meet The Sponsored Children

When you are reading about our sponsored children you will notice that many come from Nkunya. Nkunya is a traditional district that is composed of many separate villages; the children come from many different places in Nkunya. Because in the past there was an armed conflict between Nkunya and another district that lasted for many years the people of Nkunya are, for the most part, living in dire poverty. Due to the poverty many of the men and women have left to become migrant workers. This means that these men and woman are often exposed to and then become HIV+; this in turn causes many children to be born with the virus. Nkunya is a community that is severely at risk, this is the reason why so many of our sponsored children come from that region.
