My name is Akyea Emmanuel. I am fifteen years of age. My birthday is on the 13th of September. I hail from Anfoe-Adame in the Volta region of Ghana. My parents are Evans Akyea and Grace Adukonu.

I have been in the HardtHaven Childrens home since the 6th of July 2007. I arrived one day after my brother Israel came. My favourite food is fufu and light soup with cow meat, and akple with okro soup.

I attend Gabi District Assembly Junior High School. I am in form 2. My favorite subjects are Maths and English. This is because when I grow up I want to be an accountant. I want to be an accountant because my Aunt told me I should be an accountant. This is because my cousin is going to university to be one and when he finishes he will make a lot of money I want to make a lot of money too.

I am in charge of making the list for market twice a week and I go and buy the supplies for the home at market to. Mr Edem picked me to be responsible for market because he knew that I am good at English and Ewe and that I am good at maths so I can add up what we need. I like it sometimes but when it is too hot or raining it is a pain.

When I am not in school I like to be playing school with the children, to get the children to do dancing and singing and playing church, as long as I am the group leader. I enjoy helping Tassi in the kitchen and I am very good at making macaroni. I like riding the bike and my favorite color is yellow because yellow is the middle color of the Ghana flag and I want to be in the middle.

I also tease the volunteers and make them laugh. I am very good at hiding in corners and popping out scaring volunteers, especially auntie Julie. I also like to show volunteers around town.
